Best teaching practices 2008

TNI (NIIT institute of information technology ) invited papers from teachers to demonstrate and share innovative teaching practices to facilitate interaction between educational researchers and the teaching community .Four teachers of our school participated in the conference which was held on 22 - 23 December 2008 in India Habitat Centre ,Delhi.
Ms. Seema lal ,T.G.T.(Social Science ) presented her paper " Teaching Practices using ICT"

Ms. Manju Kapoor , P.G.T. (Physics ) gave her presentation on "Using eXe for teaching Physics" Ms. Monika Mehan , T.G.T. (Biology) presented on the topic "The E PIL approach"

Ms. Rashmi Kathuria , P.G.T. (Mathematics) presented her paper on " e Mathematics using offline and web based strategies "

It is heartening to share that Ms. Rashmi Kathuria got First Place amongst 31 entries from all across India.

Demystifying technology for better learning

An inter school competition on “Demystifying technology for better learning” was organized by CII Shiksha – a non profit organization on 14 Nov 2008 in our school premise.To grace the occasion Prof. Y.S. Rajan Vice President DAVCMC , Ms. Sharmila Dalmia Founder Shiksha , Dr. S.C.Datta ex Associate Professor D.U and Dr. Seema Parihar Deputy Dean Student Welfare DU were invited. Schools from Delhi participated in four events viz. Essay writing, Debate, Painting and Case-Study. In the inaugural ceremony our school Principal Ms. P. Datta shared with the audience regarding teachers using blogs/wikis/social networks for teaching. Also she talked about the changing teaching learning trends. Prof. Y.S. Rajan addressed the gathering with wonderful thoughts on using technology and not to be its slave. After the competitions were over, valedictory ceremony was held in our school auditorium. Ms. Sharmila Dalmia gives away medallions, certificates and gift hampers from Chandamama to all the winners. Participation certificates were awarded to all students. She thanked the judges, our Principal Ms. P. Datta, Ms. Rashmi Kathuria (P.G.T. Mathematics) for their support to CII Shiksha Project and honoured them with momentos. In the end Dr. Seema Parihar gave vote of thanks on behalf of CII Shiksha .
